Best Sunday Lunch have had out! Bold statement.... Generous on trimmings and jus which is always a plus. Reasonable wine offering. Great setting with cosy fire

We can't thank John and his team enough for our wedding lunch a few weeks ago. The private dining room was perfect for our group of 16 - for a late lunch. We were asked to pre-order from the set menu that week and the chef even agreed to change one of the items for us - which was really kind. When we arrived, everything was all set up and ready to go as requested. I was anticipating the set menu to be an inferior version of the a la carte menu, but it exceeded expectations - delicious, generous portions, beautifully cooked and presented. We had a mixed group of young kids and our parents but everyone was well catered for. You have access to your own loo up a few stairs so you don't need to use the main pub at all. John always emailed back promptly and was very helpful. Thank you!

The food was very good along with portion control and the overall ambience. No side plates sadly but great cotton napkins. I felt staff were very tense, as staff seem sterile and showed no personality to customer, and communicated zero to each other in any type of banter way. There was very little in the bottle of red wine selection below thirty pounds. Overall as i say the food was very good, plus good space between tables.
