Great, authentic east end pub with history and culture. Good any night of the week. Monday pub quiz nights are amazing fun. Lovely views over the Thames with Canary Wharf to the east and the Shard to the west.

Great quiz night Monday night. I visited to see a friend and ended up winning with (a lot) of help! Beers are good and food looked great. Will visit again, if only to possibly meet the Landlord, a Wizard so I'm told...

If you live near Narrow street. You must go to this cozy and well located pub. It has a view on the Thames and overlooks Canary Wharf. It has all your typical English pub food with great choices of beers and Ales on the ground floor. Up on the first floor you will find a restaurant with white linen tables. Great to go during summer or winter. Last but not least, the owner of the pub is no other then Gandalf the grey

For me that's the best PUB in London. The place is there since 1583, and I believe Gandalf has founded it - you can see him around on the quiz. The food is awesome, besides you can book the tables upstairs for a proper lunch/dinner. The food is what makes the experience even better. You can have finish the experience on a last pint staring at the Thames on it's deck.

One of my favourite traditional English pubs in London, with a wooden balcony right above the river.
As the balcony/terrace is quite small, it does get full very quickly, especially at the weekends, but it’s worth hanging about by the bar until the space on the balcony becomes available.
It’s also very cosy inside and it bursts with history from pictures on the walls.
Their selection of ales and beers is excellent and priced moderately.
We also had a pleasure to dine in the restaurant upstairs (within the pub) to celebrate my birthday one day.
My fish tasted very fresh and delicious, and the portion was very generous. It was perhaps a little expensive, but it was totally worth it!
The staff were polite and attentive.
Oh, and this place is dogs friendly - there is a water bowl for dogs inside the pub :) Occasionally you can see some happy doggies chilling in the pub, while their owners enjoy the pint :)
There are a couple of bike-racks outside the pub, which is handy for us cyclists.
