Place is busy as you would expect. one of the three staff came across as helpful and friendly. The red headed female was.grumpy about something which.in turn upset another of the staff. He too armed grumpy. Drinks are ok with nice company.

Great pub. Amazing Irish bartender. Good selection of beers and ales. Cheap in relation to where it is and it’s history.

Top range of beers and friendly knowledgeable staff, having a decent range is one thing but actually knowing the beer, being able to suggest similar options when one is out, recommending a decent beer that maybe I hadn't tried before and might like really sets this place a part from other pubs I visited in the area. It was small without much seating but not really an issue as seemed fairly quiet given it was a Friday lunchtime....

Last pub on Oxford Street. Grade II listed. Fascinating place with ornately painted mirrors and panels on the walls and ceiling.The chandeliers are a stark contrast to the plain, wooden floor. Full of character and reasonable prices.

As a northerner, I'm naturally suspicious of all things southern, especially their beer. However, on this occasion, I could not have been happier to call into this pub. Great selection of ales, served well, in a friendly warm environment. A home away from home.
