The hotel is a real hidden gem in my opinion- lots of really big generous rooms- well kept and nice staff. Rooms can be very reasonable and the location is great for many areas of Bristol. Will be back again.

Oh, man. The thing that struck me about the hotel was the 'faded Glamour' it was aiming for, with the decor and the overall maintenance. And I think if the staff and - more importantly - owners cared about he building, it was be a great option for a night or two. However, that care just isn't there. Staff slow to attend the bar. Food that was served sloppily and without attention. Rooms that were not properly cleaned and broken fixtures and fittings that are sadly dated.
We were there to attend a wedding nearby and that was why we booked it, not for comfort but for it's location. Bed was fine but crayon marks and worryingly grey rugs met us when we looked around. One bin emptied in the main room and the bathroom not. Just...sloppy. Careless.
With a bit of love and a heck of money, it could be a great place, if not a bit of a Warren.

Enjoyed our stay, affordable yet fascinating historic building with spacious comfortable rooms. Limited menu but good food. Breakfast in cloisters conservatory with self service hot and cold buffet, all staff polite and cheerful, would come again, very convenient for South Bristol. Room 123 lovely!

The hotel was much better than expected. The was spacious and clean, and all the facilities worked well. The location was quiet and pretty. All the staff were nice and friendly. The distance to the city centre was farther than expected. But it's still reachable by walking (40 minutes). But enjoyed using the bus because the road in Bristol go up and down; the town is quite hilly. The fire alarm went off twice in two days but obviously we don't know if it's their fault or not. Regardless it finished before we had chance to go out. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely awful...!! This hotel is less than half a mile away from my company head office and have stayed here before purely for convenience. I booked a week in advance over the phone and after 176 miles I arrived at 6pm to be told no record of my booking and no rooms available... no apology, no offer of helping to find another hotel..Nothing.. I was left to find another hotel 40 miles away as all other hotels in Bristol were fully booked. Up an extra hour in the morning to avoid the M4 traffic instead of a quarter mile calm drive to the office. If I could give it zero stars I would!!!
