Went in for some teas and coffees and a snack for my little 6 year old. I was told by them very rudely that if we weren't ordering full meals we would have to leave because of the age of my little girl. So went over the road to old chain pier and was greeted by a smile and told no problem at all. Different rules for different bars or just too much effort for not enough return? I'm not sure what difference it makes to them if we order full meals or not when they claimed it was the law we had to??? Horrible service and general attitude. Left a bit dumbfounded by the whole incident.

Very pleasant and attentive service. Good selection of whiskies. Only two lagers on tap. Plenty of ales, with frequent changes. Dog friendly. Heating could be cranked up a little on chilly days.

Can only speak to it's quality as a restaurant, rather than a pub. I have eaten here a few times, for lunch as well as dinner. Service was good, food is average pub grub. Outdoor seating is nice, if the weather ever cooperates.
