A restaurant that continually surpasses expectations. A wonderful atmosphere, created by truly excellent staff and fantastic food. It's a great place for corporate fine dining, yet somehow is just as good at seeing the ambience for a romantic meal for two. Highly recommended!

Booked on Quandoo for lunch, walked through stunning Edinburgh in the sunshine, hungry and optimistic. Arrived at Stac Polly, which was closed. Called Stac Polly to be told there was a terrible mistake with bookings and they actually aren't open for lunch today. I knew that already, I was standing in front of the restaurant which I believe I already mentioned was closed. I enquired as to whether they had intended to tell me or not. They tried, I was told, to email me (no email) and to call (no call). I booked the table four days ago. That's not really very professional as far as I can tell, hence one star. Still, look on the bright side, we had a very nice walk and are now waiting for our table at the Witchery by the Castle, which is both excellent and open.

Amazing food, nice little place, quite romantic. Good service - but wouldn't leave our bottle of wine with us, kept it round the corner and refilled when necessary :)

Nice food, with a modern take on traditional, but it made for a lifeless Thursday night dining. It's as if the dementors were nearby...
