One of the city centre's best kept secrets. You'll need to walk up an uninviting lane, but it'll be well worth it. As others have noted, this is a place that you want to keep to yourself, but can't resist raving about. Service is great, very welcoming; particular without being fussy.
It's a Californian restaurant: the dishes are lighter, tastier and more inventive than you might expect from your average American-themed restaurant in Edinburgh. If you enjoy Californian wines, Calistoga pride themselves on their stock and it seems they are regular visitors to the Napa Valley.

The food is amongst the best in Edinburgh with quality equally high at lunch or dinner.
A real gem in Edinburgh and if you visit them you will return and recommend to your family and friends.
