Small, friendly hotel, close to the city centre. The hotel is fairly modern, clean, and also fairly quiet. The hotel has a bar and breakfast is available, but it doesn't have a restaurant and doesn't serve evening meals. It's sister hotel just across the road though does have a restaurant, and also serves bar meals. There's also an Italian restaurant right at the side of the hotel (it's entrance is only a couple of metres or so away from the hotel's entrance). The hotel is ideally placed for shopping and entertainment. It's only a couple of minutes walk from the railway station, and less than 10 minutes wallk from the Intu shopping centre and Derby Theatre. On other sites people have complained that the hotel's lift is very slow. It isn't the fastest lift in the world, but I've stayed there a couple of times and haven't found it to be a problem. The hotel's entrance is wheelchair accessible, with an automatic door, and there is a lift to all floors as well as stairs. There are a small number of fully accessible rooms, although I'm a wheelchair user and when I've just stayed overnight at the hotel I've managed in just a standard room.

We live in Derby but was attending a wedding and made a night of it. Hotel was nice, a bit dated on the decor. Staff was friendly. Ordered room service from the night menu, was ok and it arrived a little late and she forgot the drinks but soon returned with them. Paid for the breakfast as we booked in and was much cheaper then online, half the price if i remember right. It was a little dry and over done but was still nice.

Booked a triple room with 3 single beds. Arrived at 10pm very tired. I started to get booked in by filling in my information that I had already completed online. Male member of staff interrupted with no apology as another guest keys weren't working and were waiting outside the room. Receptionist spent 5 mins sorted the other guests out with keys complimentary drinks and a free breakfast. No apology for keeping me waiting.
Get the keys for the room and find I have a double bed and a sofa. No duvet either.
I complained as I paid for 3 single beds. I was told ah they've given me the family room. I don't care I've paid for the triple room...ah yes but they've given me the family room. Yes I heard her the first time. I paid for the triple room. There's no triple rooms left.
I explained I was with my adult daughter and young nephew and didn't think it was right I should be sharing a bed with either.
Well I can get your daughter another room!!
I don't want my daughter in a separate room thanks!!
So I had to go to my car and get a duvet that I fortunately had with me for the long journey and my daughter slept on a sofa....not a bed!!

We were walking distance from Derby town centre and pride park in the opposite direction. Plenty of places to eat in the area. The room we had reminded me of going to stay at my nans. No Aircon and unfortunately it was a warm evening. Breakfast was good, black pudding slightly overdone in my opinion. Decent size car park at the rear and the staff were very helpful. It served a purpose and would probably stay again for the location. Right next to the train station.

Definitely not one of the best hotels I've stayed in as provided by work, while on a training course. The food is a massive let down but, then again we had a set menu. It may have been different if I ordered off the main everyday menu. Staff were fantastic very friendly the rooms are adequate but nothing special. Breakfast was good. Location is good as its not far from intu where I spent most evenings and on same basis it's not far from city centre either.
