Previous experience at this vet taught me to stay well clear. My previous cat was taken there to be neutered and they gave him back to me absolutely drenched in wee top to bottom!
So when my usual vets refered my new cat there for an overnight stay as an emergency I was quite concerned !
However it was a different team to pentrose dealing with over night. So I was hoping service would be better. Care of my cat over night seemed OK. However he was only put in a cage over night with a drip.
As far as I know over night stay was ok. However I recevied two missed calls at midnight, so waking up to this was a huge concern that something was wrong, however it was just to update me he was ok.... I think they could have waited until the morning to call me about that instead of worrying me.
Further to this... They originally try to get me to sign for a £600 estimate to keep cat over night! (Cheaper to put him in a suite in a posh Mayfair hotel for a night! ) I queried that straight away and it was reduced to £130 , next day when I collected him they then try to charge me £180 so I had to remind them of the amount they quoted yesterday.
It's a concern how they do not know how to price simple over night stays.
It's a concern that staff are not trained correctly on how to use their computer system to price up jobs. I wonder how many people have been over charged without realising at this practice! I know a lot of people might be embarrassed to query things like this!
The reception staff of penrose were in when I collected my cat. The vet was trying to discuss with me several important things however I couldn't hear him as penrose staff were standing next to him have a personal conversation between themselves which was extremely loud. I asked him to repeat as I couldn't hear over them, you would think they would have their conversations elsewhere but they carried on, this time a little louder! Manners absolutely appalling.
The penrose reception staff and across incredibly rude and unapproachable , they had literally just walked in the door for their day at work as well!
I would strongly advise to avoid this vets at all costs! Every time I've been I've been faced with very unprofessional customer service and problems! The added stress is not needed when you are dealing with an unwell pet.
