Friendly & knowledgable staff, there is a Vet in the store and they were very good when my Dogs became injured. Excellent service!

Good range of products and staff appear to be friendly when ever visited. Easy free parking too.

The staff were distinctly lacking in knowledge of the small animals they sell, in particular the 2 male rats they had for sale. No idea of their age, and the rats looked in poor health. I was told they were handled every day, but this was clearly not the case as the rats were very scared of any human contact. I also paid over £100 for the biggest rat cage they have, but when I got the box home they had given me the cheaper and smaller version, so I had to rush back to get it changed. Very overpriced for the basic products they sell too, you can get the same products much cheaper elsewhere, even independent pet stores. Finally the in-store vets were nothing short of useless - I requested an appointment online as they were closed, but I never got an appointment confirmed or even a courtesy call back. It has been well documented that Pets At Home do not care for the welfare of the animals they sell. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANIMALS FROM THEM! For the sake of health and temperament, use a reputable independent breeder. Only giving 1 star rating because I have to give one before I can post this, otherwise it would be a 0 star rating.
