A quint and quirky hotel. Decent sized room and very clean. The bathroom was modern with nice big towels. Bedroom was a little dated but the bed was comfy. Very tasty breakfast, all freshly cooked and the bar was open late into the night. We didn't really get much of a welcome when we arrived which was a bit of a shame as the staff after that we're all friendly and helpful. Very quiet surroundings and well kept grounds. Great location for visiting Bury St Edmunds, only about a 15min drive into the centre.

I had my wedding at Thurston Grange on the 24th June 2017.
Going back to when I first looked at the hotel as a possible wedding venue, the events manager they had at the time told me that the carpet in the Banquet hall would get replaced before my wedding, that the moles in the garden will be gone and some other things. But he was a lot more interested in trying to get my dad to do a Elvis night at the hotel. When I brought all this to the attention of the hotel managers, save to say they sacked him and apologised to me, and took over the planning of my wedding. So we had some bumps along the way.
The day of the wedding, well what can I say.....
I LOVED every single minute of it. I got ready at the hotel, the staff were actually all waiting at the bottom of the stairs and I got the reaction I was hoping for. I could hear them all saying my dress was lovely, which made me fight back tears. The grounds were perfect only 1 mole hill, but I didn't care. The food was just perfect, everyone who came really enjoyed it. We had a hog roast for our wedding breakfast. I had family from America stay for 4 nights and they really enjoyed their stay. All in all I had a great wedding:)

Great food, drink and log cabin room. Top quality service with a smile, with a full English in the morning to boot! Would definitely recommend :)
