Maybe because I grew up next to the sea but I just expected a bit more. Bristol has such a wonderful food scene but we all felt that The Spiny Lobster just lacked the "wow" factor and the fish dishes just seemed a bit flat.

Nice, upscale seafood restaurant (has its own fishmongers at the back). No question, is a very nice restaurant. However, on my single visit, I didn't really get the wow from the food that I had hoped for. Hence only 4 stars, taking into account high prices and corresponding expectations.

Great fish and seafood restaurant in Bristol. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing. We had the mixed grill for two which consisted of shark, trout, plaice and king prawns. The fish was cooked to perfection and each one had the most amazing crust which totally complimented the flavour of the fish without overpowering it. Would highly recommend and when I'm back in the area I will certainly be visiting the restaurant again.

Simple, fresh.. great seafood.. recommend.. I think I will give a 4 as the lobster was just slightly over.. maybe unfair but it was very good. Great seafood restaurant

We didn't have a booking but they agreed to fit us in as we were there early at 6.30pm. Service was efficient and attentive, food was amazing! No wonder they won 2016 Bristol good food award for best seafood restaurant. Oysters and mussels were fresh, razor clams and fish soup super tasty. The atmosphere feels down to earth but classy at the same tine
