We went for the 6 course tasting menu. We did get 6 courses and left full. The staff were very friendly. The New Steine was advertised as a French Bistro, which it wasn't. There just weren't the nice touches. The décor was tired, the napkins were paper, the table a bit sticky. The food was uninspiring. The Pork Wellington was tough and potatoes a bit charred. The best course? Probably the ice cream.

I have stayed here on several occasions now and the service and welcome is consistently excellent.
The atmosphere and energy in the hotel is relaxed and very comfortable. It has a biju charm to it with a variety of art throughout the place.
This evening I ate in the bistro. The food was excellent, great value and again the service was great.
I shall be back again ☺

Service was fine, the wait time from ordering breakfast to it being brought to the table was long..about 20-25 mins. Our room was ok BUT the smell of damp was very strong and just ruined the enjoyment of the room. TV was not operational either. Stuff that you know staff should be aware of but clearly didn't care !!!

Helpful staff. Rooms are small (but this is a old building) but clean & reasonably well appointed. Good location, quiet.
