I love this store. Multilevel and big but still got that bookstore feel. Great café area.

Book selection is great, you can easily loose away a few hours in the shelves getting inspired and wanting to buy more than you came in for. However the coffee shop is no longer any good. No food available by 11am and even their bottled drinks were sold out. The sandwiches that were available were very peculiar, it was better when there was a Costa in there. But if you are just needing books then this is the place to go.

This is the best place to be in Brighton. They have wide range of books...and excellent cafes to have coffee and read on work on your laptop. Not too loud to distract reading or work for someone who likes doing that in coffee shops...or for someone who doesn't like too quiet of a place.
My only recommendation would be more African literature books ;) ...and possibly a plug for charging (unless this was done on purpose as some people tend to overstay their welcome...)
