We went with a suspicious view given its location in tourist area and slightly pricey offering. However I got to say the food was superb. We order 9 dishes between 3 of us, starting with duck liver pate, seafood chowder and scallops all 3 of them were delicious. The mains we shared between us seafood pasta, folded pizza and pan fried seabass, again beautifully cooked with fairly generous portion of seafood. The highlight was certainly the tiramisu it was made with slightly different twist with some ice cream on top. Really nice food. The bill did come to over £100 but we did also order couple of wines on the side as well.

We had a fantastic night, the Alfresco team were amazing from the start. Helping us with balloons and banners, very attentive and efficient. Constantly clearing glasses and plates, right through to the very end, making sure we had gathered up all our bit and bobs!! Its was the perfect venue for us, everyone enjoyed the food, the whole evening was a complete success. I would have no hesitation to recommend Alfresco.

Beautiful views, inside and out. Excellent food, Italian staff, incredibly large portions and fantastic wine and cocktails. Not a tourist trap! Despite the location, surprisingly authentic and delicious.

The service was first class outstanding actually, made myself and my niece feel realty welcome. The view was great, and good to have a cold beer over looking the sea. Only gripe. Went during lunch and would like to have more of a veggie option. Had a meaty pizza anyway but food was good

I'd start off with 4 stars for good food. Its a bit pricey but no more than half the restaurants in Brighton, so we are down to 3 stars. Its a cold autumn Monday, got of work early and I'm in a stingy mood. Somehow the smiling attentive waiter put me in the perfect spot looking out to sea. Ordered house wine. The charming waiter returns and I take in the relaxed atmosphere. OK Alfresco have a star back. All the other tables are happy and quietly chatting. I thought it was a fluke that the warm sun and glowing sky made me feel like I was on a romantic ship sailing out to sea into a beautiful sun set. But the 2nd and 3rd time I also walk out of there feeling like I'd had a romantic holiday. Maybe it was the company or the outstanding waiter but there are magic places in Brighton if you look. Am I really limited to 5 stars?
