I have had three tattoos done by Joolz at Studio Bijoux. Each one is a work of art completed by an artist at the top of her game. The studio (and Joolz herself) is warm, welcoming and calm. It is always worth the 500 mile round trip. Totally recommended.

To say that a tattoo is a transformative experience that you'll enjoy for the rest of your life is an understatement. At least for me. Because of that I sought personalized, handcrafted, precision artistry with attention to even the most minute detail. I chose Joolz at Studio Bijoux for my journey. Between her years of experience and her warm, reassuring personality I felt immediately confident with my choice and completely at ease from start to finish.
If you don't live nearby, Joolz conveniently manages the bespoke process through e-mail exchanges. It starts with your initial thoughts and goals. Then the magic begins. Your ideas morph into a sketch and after exchanges there is a final review in the studio before it becomes your tattoo design. Nothing about the process is rushed.
Once you're in the studio Joolz allocates ample time to discuss and explain everything before she starts -- emphasizing and reemphasizing the importance of your tattoo as an ongoing part of your life. One of her strengths is how openly and candidly she talks with you about your design choices, placement, colors, size, etc. and how well she guides you through this interactive process. She educates you on the entire process i.e., from start to finish to aftercare to a lifetime of beautiful artwork. It's interesting and fun!
The studio itself is storybook and exactly as you'd visualize a professional art studio. Relaxing, cozy vibe with plenty of artwork on display and design books with her artwork if you want to browse for a design or take home a piece. But most importantly.......every inch of the studio is spotlessly clean. It's the epitome of 'hygienic' which is EXACTLY what you want in a studio!
So far, I'm enjoying two amazing tattoos. I get so many compliments on them and to be honest I can't look at them without SMILING. (Yes, they make me happy!) BOTTOMLINE: I wouldn't trust having a tattoo done anywhere else, and in fact, I make the trip from California to make sure I'm in expert hands.
