If you want surgeons who are quick on lethal diagnoses and take no accountability for their decisions and actions, then go Gortlands. First, they prescribed my senior dog a painkiller for stiffness without warning me of its severe side affects like ulcers. Second, when a week later my dog collapsed from ulcer internal bleeding, in their day care she was given another painkiller that caused an allergic reaction. Without investigating the cause of second collapse in depth, Gortlands vets decided it was sepsis ( blood test results?) and suggested I euthanize my dog. When I refused to do so I was put through several hours of hell when I was not aloud to transfer my dog to another clinic, continuously forced to kill her. My dog is alive and well now. No sepsis. However, Gortlands refuse to admit that a drug they prescribed caused ulcers and did not disclose to me the reason for my dog's second collapse ( I got it confirmed from a clinic I transferred my dog to). But they still want me to pay £££ bill for their 'kind' services, when they nearly killed my dog on more than one occasion.

I have always taken our dogs, cats and all the small animals our sons' had when they were growing up. I have always found the staff and the vets themselves to be helpful, kind and always empathetic.

I accidently only hit on 2 stars. This was an error on my behalf. This Veterinary Clinic whom I have been with for 30 years is totally dediated to all my cats. The staff always helpful and smiling. I would confidently recomend Gortlands.
