Last Thursday I was diagnosed retinal detachment, an urgent medical condition that requires immediate intervention. Unfortunately the specialist just left for his holidays. Of course, that can happen. When I said I would see where else the surgery could be done. They literally begged me NOT to do so and wait till he is back by the end of the month!!! Incredible!!! Apparently, their concern is with their pocket rather then the potential blindness of their patient. In some countries this practice is a crime, advising against immediate necessary treatment.
