We chose this hotel because we stayed only one night in Surat Thani and then we had to move to Koh Tao. It is 40 minutes from the airport and so, not central, but we didnt care much about the position. We arrived at 22.30 and the receptionist was very nice, although she didnt speak a very understandable english, but with broad smiles and a few words we understood each other. We had to left 300 baht deposit (no one knows why, maybe for fear that we would have steal who knows what ... still, they made us a receipt and everything, and we had the money back the morning after).
We also booked the ferry to Koh Tao at the reception.
The room was really very basic, tiny, very hot, worn sheets, old and dirty furniture. There is no safebox and the door didn't seem very solid, so be careful what you leave in your room, even though we had no problems. The bathroom with the shower and the toilet is in a tiny space, and the sink is in the main bedroom. The hotel is a two star at most and for 20 Euros you can find something better. The next morning, my girlfriend tried the breakfast (which was included): we say "tried" because in the room there was a very strong smell of spices, fried, fish and meat, smells not really very good, there was no coffee except that soluble, the choice was between a Chinese or Thai breakfast (with pad thai, curries, meatballs in broth or fried barracuda), for the happiness of a series of Koreans granpas who were present (the only guests ). The morning after, however, the staff drove us to the bus that would take us to the ferry. The night before we went to eat something in the pub next to the hotel (hangar), nothing memorable, but it must be said that the waiters were very friendly and we spent a couple of fun hours in a typical pub with thai boys who sang typical thai songs.
Abbiamo scelto questo hotel solo perché siamo rimasti una sola notte a Surat Thani per spostarci poi a Koh Tao. È a 40 minuti dall'aeroporto e non centrale, ma non ci interessava granché la posizione. Siamo arrivati alle 22.30 e la receptionist è stata molto gentile, anche se non parlava un inglese molto comprensibile, ma con ampi sorrisi e qualche parola ci siam capiti. Abbiamo dovuto lasciare 300 bath di cauzione (non si sa per paura che rubassimo che cosa poi... comunque ci ha fatto una ricevuta e tutto restituito alla partenza). Abbiamo prenotato anche il traghetto per Koh Tao. La camera era davvero molto spartana, minuscola, molto calda, le lenzuola usurate, gli arredi vecchi e sporchi. Non è presente una cassaforte e le porte non sembrano solidissime, quindi occhio a cosa lasciate in stanza, anche se noi non abbiamo avuto problemi. Il bagno con la doccia e il water sono in una stanzetta minuscola sempre nella camera, il lavandino nella camera principale. L'hotel è un due stelle al massimo e per 20 euro circa si può trovare qualcosa di meglio. La mattina, la mia ragazza ha provato a far colazione (che era compresa nel prezzo): diciamo "provato", perchè nella saletta adibita c'era un odore molto forte di spezie, soffritto, pesce e carne, odori non proprio buonissimi, non c'era il caffè se non quello solubile, la scelta era tra una colazione cinese o thailandese (con pad thai, curry, polpette in brodo o barracuda fritto), per la felicità di una serie di nonnini koreani che erano presenti (gli unici ospiti). La mattina dopo peró ci hanno accompagnati a prendere il bus che ci avrebbe portato al traghetto. La sera prima siamo andati a mangiare qualcosa nel pub proprio accanto all'hotel (hangar), nulla di indimenticabile, ma va detto che i camerieri erano molto gentili e abbiamo passato un paio d'ore divertenti in un tipico pub thai con ragazzi thai che cantavano tipiche canzoni thai.
