校史：1956年大同工業專科學校，1963年改制大同工學院，1999年升格大同大學。校訓：正誠勤儉；工業報國。
校園特色：已經超過60年歷史的甲子學校，由大同公司所創辦，位在臺北市鬧區範圍受限，再加上還附設工廠廠區設施，整體無大學校園的感覺。但另有一棟新穎的歐式館院建築，對比舊校舍很是突兀。
校門内的風水墻裝飾，花園内的大同寶寶，花園内的地球儀及上方的大同寶寶，花園内的尿童噴水池，經常被用來拍攝婚紗照的歐式宮廷建築，校門，校訓八字張貼，校園内的防災水池，畢業生捐贈櫻花樹，操場上的小升旗臺。
