Very amazing place. Friendly personal, German is speaking too. Payment only in SEK or for European with maestro card ( ec karte von Sparkasse, Volksbank ). Café incl.

Fantastic day with the family. Our kids loved to explore and the museum was a winner. They were intrigued and learned a lot. We talked a lot about Astrid's life and her books. Great play areas and beautiful gardens. Good for old and young. I highly recommend visiting here!

Extremely well made and a must see when in Vimmerby! I have rarely seen an exhibition that was able to teach you better about a person's life than this one. I knew Astrid Lindgren only from Pipi and Emil before, but now I see her in a completely different light.
The exhibition is even recommended for kids - they get their own audio guides (also available in German and other languages) and hear a kid's version of the texts. Our 5- and 8-years old children liked it a lot and were not bored (remember: it's a biographical exhibition!).
Another must go is the lovely garden and the BOA book shop (which is run by relatives of Astrid Lindgren).
We loved it here, and it was worth the ca. 60 EUR admission (2 adults and 2 children).

A place of knowledge and inspirations. Interesting audio exhibition about Astrid Lindgren's life, inspirations to her books, her thoughts and views. The garden is beautiful. Wish I would have had more time.

Great exhibition, sweet staff who are all very engaged and knowledgeable. A lot of families and school classes visiting, but it's also very exciting for adults to visit without children - I suppose you get a different experience with/without children :)
