Bonitas vistas y ambiente.

The meat as usual is excellent, el Bichillo. Prices continue to creep up. No longer what I class as a guachinche, but good.

We found this place via Google Local and though the décor is fantastic, the rest is rather poor, though that is due to the fact that this is not a typical restaurant but a "Guachinche". For those not familiar with Tenerife here a quick explanation what a guachinche is.
Guachinches are sort of seasonal restaurants. Once unregulated, they are now bound by certain laws. They should only open for three consecutive months, offer a maximum of three dishes (none of which should be dessert or fruit) and serve only their own wine – they aren’t even allowed to serve beer, coffee or tea but they can sell water and one alcohol free beverage. In return for these limitations guachinches get certain tax reductions.
The problem with this particular guachinche is, that it sticks meticulously to the rules. I've never seen a guanchinche do that. Wherever you go in Tenerife you get all kinds of drinks, deserts and food in a guanchinche. Not so here.
We were offered salted fish, t-bone steak and "garbanzas" (chick peas) for lunch and either wine, seven-up or water. There was no desert whatsoever. The food was edible, but nothing to write home about.
It was nice to go and see the place once (it is really quite beautiful), but we won't return.
