Disappointed/Decepcionado/Deçu
The following review is my personal opinion as a Platinum member of Accor Hotels that is completely disappointed of the bad service received in this hotel.
I arrived at the hotel at around two in the morning without a reservation because usually I get the same price that the Accor app shows me when I arrive to the hotels. But the night receptionist refused to give me the same rate stating that it was no longer available and it was a non refundable rate. But nonetheless he made me prepaid my stay in advance.
The following morning I requested to talk to the manager in charge, I wanted to explain the situation plus to show all the problems we found during the night in room 802 (We were upgraded as Platinum members to a supposed to be better room, this was not the case as we encountered many inconveniences)
Monica the receptionist never acknowledge our status of Platinum members or thanks us for our loyalty or showed any interest on helping us whatsoever.
Isabel the Director of the hotel, completely ignored us during our 2 night stay, we were unable to talk to her after requesting it in several occasions. We also sent an email to her and we didn't get any reply. Perfect example of bad management and that's probably why the room have the following problems:

1) The shower was so dirty you didn't wish to clean your body in such a place.
2) The Air-conditioning regulator was broken, afraid of getting electrified is touched.
3) The ceiling in the bathroom was open an could see the cables.
4) There were holes on the curtains.
5) The blanket was not covered.
6) There was a dirty iron in the room, and we requested a clean one. And they brought again a dirty one.
7) There was no one by the pool to give us towels and the desk was all dirty.
I wonder what kind of 4* has such a bad service. This really is the Achilles heel of Le Club AccorHotels. The customer service is not up to the same level compared to SPG, Marriott, Hilton or IHG.
I would like to point out. That after several attempts we manage to talk to a sales manager named Mar. She was kind enough to regulate our rate to the price we were supposed to pay from the beginning, changed us to room 804 (Not holes in the curtains but still a ceiling problem and a broken ac) and offer us the 10€ parking for free which even though I was greatful to receive I consider insufficient compensation for the wasted time and bad experience we had in this Mercure Hotel. No breakfast was offered as compensation even after we stated it could be a nice gesture towards us.
I will never recommend this hotel to anyone and I expect they will try in the future to improve the customer service and fixed all the rooms problems to become a true 4*.
I remain very dissatisfied. And hope to be contacted by the hotel to offer some points compensation.

On arrival it was a nice place,but when booking it stated it was a five minute walk into Salou which is untrue, if you have no transport it's a very very long hot walk into the main place, over an hour I'd say. The only bus takes you to old Salou which was out of the way from where my family were staying so another long walk again. Hotel nice on the inside and rooms were tidy, wifi signal not dry good.

The rooms were very nice with great facilities. I didn't try the pool but others said it was great. The food was fantastic.

The rooms are big and the bathrooms are nice. All very clean, but the IBIS Budget hotels are much better value.
