Refurbished about 2009 this is a great museum with finds from all periods of the province's history, Phoenician, Carthaginian, Roman, Islamic and later. Displays artifacts from Carteia and Baelo Claudia.

Another great Andalusian museum, well worth a visit. Archaeological finds include Phoenician, Roman and Islamic artefacts, which are all well displayed.

Good section on early history of Cadiz. Modern art on upper floors.

This is a great, local museum. What is even more impressive is that it is free, at least for EU citizens!

The biggest highlight is of course the sarcophagus from the Phoenicians, inmacutely preserved and displayed. The one from the lady even had some decorative bronze eye lashes!

The paintings are also interesting, and although there are no world-knowns masterpieces there are plenty of Murillo's and Zurbaran's
