Think of it not as a trek to the less-than-central neighbourhood of Nou Barris, but as a quest; queues outside are testament to the great value of the tapas. On especially busy nights you'll be asked to take a number, supermarket-style. Waiters will advise first-timers to start with 'chocos' (creamy squid rings), patatas bravas with allioli, 'llonganissa' sausage and 'tigres' (stuffed mussels). After which the world is your oyster, cockle or clam.

Delicious tapas and fast service. Though if you end up later than 8 you might need to wait a table a moment. Pick a number from the bar and you'll be called when there's a free table. I recommend mejillones tigres if you like sea food. All this in the pic (half bottle of wine) together 10.65€

If you've never tried tapas or you just love it, La Espuinica is definitely the place to go. The food is amazing and they give good portions too. It has a very friendly atmosphere, all the waiters are great. The restaurant also has a lot of history which you can see all over the restaurant. One place to definitely visit in Barcelona!
