Niš Fortress (Serbian: Нишка тврђава / Niška tvrđava) is a fortress in the city of Niš, Serbia. It is a complex and important cultural and historical monument. It rises on the right bank of the Nišava River, overlooking the area inhabited for longer than two millennia.[1] It was protected by law in May 1948 as it was declared a cultural site of great significance. The current condition of the fortress lists it as one of the best preserved fortifications of this kind in Serbia as well as on the Balkan Peninsula.

Nice park inside the walls. When Nishville music festival is organized there is a lot of live music here and a lot of performances are free.

Very nice place to take rest. Good for walking. Good night life. A lot of bars. Many events are held in the fortress, such as nisville and movie festival.

A beautiful historic landmark that tells a story. Originally built by the ottomans in 1723, the fortress served as a living quarters for the ottoman soldiers. This 18th century fortress now serves as a park. If you want to grab a bite some where, the park has a café.

Old fortress used by Niš citizens for many activities: walking in parks, visiting art galleries, entertaining kids, having dinner or just a coffee or drink in one of many places there, shopping for souvenirs, attending concerts and festivals (International choral festival, international jazz festival, Movie festival, etc). Nice and fun place!
