The bell tower is on right few steps after entering to the church. There is a door with small sign saying to the tower. You ll need to pay a small fee to the lady sitting next to it. I almost missed this beautiful view.

Smolny Convent of the Resurrection is one of the most beautiful complexes of buildings in Saint Petersburg and a place you must visit when coming to town for the first time.

Beautiful church built by the Italian architect Rastrelli over a sixteen year period from 1748 to 1764. The cathedral is the center piece of the convent complex. The church and the monastery are awesome in their blue and white color even if the weather is not nice. However the interiors are not so rich as you can expect.
Located not so far from Nevsky Prospeckt, you can go there by metro (Chernyshevskaya) or take a bus. Worth a visit.
