A marosvásárhelyi Iskola utcai zsinagóga Erdély egyik legnagyobb zsidó temploma, amit a századforduló környékén gyakran csak Nagytemplomnak hívtak, utalva a méretére. A Jakob Gärtner, bécsi építészmérnök tervei alapján épült eklektikus épület a városban élő vallásos zsidó közösség összefogásának tudható be, ezt bizonyítja az is, hogy a monumentális zsinagóga csaknem egy év alatt készült el.

The entrance is not in front of the Synagogue but through a gate to the right of the Synagogue gate. Once we got in we got a guided tour from the President of the "Jewish Community of Tîrgu-Mureș", Dr. Vasile Dub. He speaks English well in addition to several other languages. The building is nicely restored outside and inside. A visit is well worth the 5 lei entry donation.
The hours are 9:30-12:30 Monday to Friday.
