Small and well maintained little museum.

The tour guide does a good job to really imers you into the story, taking you back back when Ion Creanga used to live here.

This tiny traditional house once belonged to Ion Creanga, a well known Romanian writer, and a friend of the great poet Mihail Eminoviciu (Mihai Eminescu), who even stayed there in a prolonged 6 month visit. It is said that looking through the veranda windows the poet was inspired to write "Sara pe Deal" (Eventide on the Hill) -and that Ion Creanga wrote the humor-filled autobiography of his childhood, complete with recollections of his very creative misbehavior at the time- "Childhood Recollections" (Amintiri din Copilarie " -original title). The place still has Mihai Eminescu's desk, gas lamp and a dip pen , and a few other authentic pieces of old traditional furniture and books . If you want to see the typical 1800's rural Moldavian house (the place was eventually incorporated in Iasi the city but was not an urban area at the time) this is a nice example -and this one is also interesting as a Romanian literature history landmark.

This old traditional house is one of the first places I visited when I moved to Iasi and the place where I start my guided tour. It's the first memorial house in Romania and gives a perfect description of how the people in the countryside used to live. The guides here are also amazing, giving you a story-like presentation of the place.

Very nice. Also at the entrance is a guide which is telling the short story of the house. Nice place to see
