We spent the day on the cruise to pinhao. The cruise was great, food good. Only criticism that there are not enough chairs outside on the deck and the majority of passengers end up spending the day standing up!

This company treated my wife and myself unethically unprofessionally and humiliating obviously they treat their passengers as numbers on the boat and not as individuals.We booked a full day cruise to the Douro valley for Friday 1 sept 2 days prior at one of their agents Majestic tours The cruise was to depart earlier than usual 0715 due to the red bull air race and harbour was going to be closed We arrived early at 0645 and were about 10th in line. When we started to board we were greeted by a rude young lady who on seeing our name on the manifest informed us if we wanted to travel we had to pay another 165euros we showed her our ticket and asked why we had to pay again. She replied in an arrogant manner that the travel agent hadn't paid them so we had to pay again. Naturally we protested and were again rudely advised not their fault the agent was another company and we had to pay if we wanted to go. As this trip was to be a highlight of our Porto visit we didn't want to miss trip so my wife pulled out her credit card to be abruptly told cash only andas we don't carry much cash for security we had no hope of finding ATM that early in the morning and boat was leaving in few minutes we had no hope and had to forget our cruise .i don't see why we had to pay again if they were having issues with majestic travel they shouldn't have accepted our booking when the agent booked the cruise. We were in the agents office when he made the booking by phone. As far as I am concerned if they have designated agents to do their bookings they should be honoured irrespective of situation between them and the agent not use their clientele as a means of bringing these disputes to their attention We were made to feel we were to blame and it was us who hadn't paid and both felt humiliated in front of the other passengers I could never recommend this company to anyone. Being involved in the tourism trade in Australia and having travelled extensively never have I witnessed or received such disgraceful service We missed out in a trip that we were so looking forward to as a mediocre way of seeing the valley we booked on the train both ways very disappointing. We went back to Majestic tours and received an immediate refund

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, good meal on board but equipment (ship) was dated and/or lacking some maintenance with diesel fumes contaminating the dining room.
