Nice hotel with good service. They have four restaurants, buffet, traditional with fado dancers, Italian and sushi. All of them good and we liked the sushi restaurant the best.

Better than expected, food was excellent with plenty of choice, and three optional dining restaurants. We never found everything in the hotel or resort as they call it. I would like to go back for another week just to explore more facilities. Good location, you can walk into the centre of Funchal in about twenty minutes. Plus lovely sea view from just about everywhere at the hotel.

Amazing location - views of the mountain on one side and ocean on the other. Very tasty food from restaurants and buffet. As a vegan they were extremely accomodating offering to modify certain things on the menu for us. There is a relaxed atmosphere which is lovely when you're sat around the pool but of an evening this leads to there being very little night life.

Horrible place! No quality, but very expensive. No atmosphere, badly maintained, bad service, etc

Excellent week's break in February.

Our first visit to Madeira, we just wanted to escape the cold weather and decided to go. The Hotel did not disappoint, our room on the same floor as the reception, most convenient. Food was plentiful with a very wide choice both at breakfast and evening meal. Staff, helpful and friendly, from reception to housekeeping and all in between. Would love to go again, would definitely recommend this hotel situated in the lovely Estrada Monumental. Some nice hotels on this stretch and Lido, next door. Generally preferred this part of Madeira, though developed, it is fresh, modern and up to date. We were there during the Carnival, not something that I personally enjoy.

One point to look out for in Madeira:

BEWARE of signs saying "Information Centre", nothing but a tourist trap, what used to be called "Time Share". Keep well away, they entice you with a few euros off city tour, but the reality is they are really selling Time Share.
