ZERO STARS! Shocking place. Charged for a Michelin star restaurant meal and served a meal from a bad cafe. We have been here for a week and had some amazing meals at less than half the price of this place. Horrendous prices!!!!!!
Very argumentative host, told us we were wrong when querying something on the bill that we did not order. Was also told it might be because we haven't visited madeira before (suggesting we didn't know what we were talking about)
Bad food, bad singing from entertainment, over priced, rude host. Wouldn't go back if you paid me.
The only thing this place has going for them is the waitress Gina. Fantastic service and definitely deserves credit. Thank you Gina x

I don't normally right a review but felt strongly about this evenings meal. We went to Arsentios in Funchal. Waited a long time for food to arrive. My partner had steak I had the fish. When the fish arrived it was over cooked and looked like it had been tossed onto the plate. The salad with it was nice. Eventually the waitress came back to ask if we had enjoyed the meal. I said I couldn't eat the fish. A while later another waiter came to ask if we were finished. Again explained I couldn't eat the fish. We asked for the bill. When the bill arrived we found that not only had we been charged full price for the uneaten fish meal. But also for a bottle of red wine we hadn't ordered. Eventually our bill was sorted. We were glad to pay and leave. Won't go back again.

If you have food allergy and you want to get youself an allergic reaction - that's the place! Either the staff is uninformed and they don't know what they put in their meals or they are really bad at cleaning dishes. They even mock you when you want to make sure what the meal is made of. I also got a raw fish - and according to the waiter, it's because the fush was fresh. And as someone already mentioned - it's totally overpriced. Really NOT recommend.

Great friendly welcome great atmosphere . Super local music which everyone joins in with. (If they know how) but great to see anyway.
I enjoyed fillet mignon and chips cooked on a charcoal grill .Amazing. I also enjoyed a Portuguese merit wine. Which was very nice.
The staff are really friendly and speak excellent English. Highly recommend this restaurant.
