Like many places down at the front and on the marina, rather expensive for what you actually get. There are better value places in Funchal.

Beer is amazing. The best. We went there 2 times. The first one everything was amazing...lamb chops and octopus yummy, the second time my partner found a long disgusting hair in his lamb chops. We had to eat separately, his dish was raw and they could of just given us the bread on the house....but no.
Too bad as i loved the beer but...not going there again.

Great real beer. Brewed on site but the recent constuction works all around the waterfront have moved the brewery temporarily. Still good beer. Wheat beer... the more cloudy the better taste actually. Dangerously moorish.
And frankly, good food... both the simple and the more exotic. Brilliant steak sandwiches, tender steak.
Plenty locals use it. Good staff very pleasant if you engage with them.
BTW the local Coral beer is not at all bad, but it is a simple lager and is what it is and is as good as the people who keep and serve it.

Unless you buy imported beer from the supermarket, this is probably the best beer you will find on the Island, and for me is certainly an improvement on the local commercially brewed Coral. But beers are a subjective & contentious subject, so I'm am speaking purely as a "real ale" drinker. As for food, I can't comment as didn't try any. As for location, its on the harbour front and as such isn't very inspiring, but it's comfortable and has great views of the cruise ships moored opposite. Personally i found it a great spot to unwind on a sunny afternoon. The place was spotless and the toilets equally as clean, overall? Great!
