In the early- to mid-90s Carlo's Batchoy - when they were located across the street in what was then known as Food Street, now The Strip - was THE place for batchoy. Fast forward to the mid-00s and how the mighty have fallen. Their batchoy devolved into a watery dish that is closer to lomi than the original La Paz specialty.

Currently the only Batchoy specialized restaurant in Cebu that matters.

I liked their Batchoy. There is no after taste. Noodles is not salty. Price is very affordable.

The batchoy here is better than the mandaue branch. And oh the shrimps and kawali

My fiance and I ate here last night 5/4/16. We had the spicy batchoy, sizzling sisig, and fried shrimp.

The batchoy taste like they opened up and pack of pancit cantone and added some chili powder with a few slices of liver and called it a day. I couldn't finish the sisig, just a bad flavor and all that was good about it was the sizzling part. The shrimp were over cooked and you can taste the old frying oil which cooks into the food if they don't know. We left unhappy and still hungry. Lucky enough we saw a balot vendor to satisfy our late night hunger.

Being in Cebu for 3 days show that the food scene isn't very popular here. Most restaurants we ate at were not good. Being a chef I would rather cook my own meals instead of waiting money on horrible food.
