ever since Roland [RIP] & Partner Heinz started business St Moritz in Ermita Manila back in the 70's , ran one of the best Bars in town including top quality food, then came Cebu, of course it/s a much busier city now but the SM is still there, big rooms, great food always, the Bar in the evening was always full of nice surprises, central for getting around

I can't write a review for St. Moritz Hotel's accommodations as I haven't stayed there, but their restaurant is a hidden gem. St. Moritz is located in a not-so-savory part of town, in a dark cul-de-sac surrounded by squalid shanties, and the hotel itself is an unassuming two story affair that's seen better days. But when you step inside the restaurant it's a real shock. The interior has rustic wood paneling, beautiful hanging lamps over the tables, and pictures of European sceneries on the walls. It's very quaint and quiet and pretty; a stark contrast to the outside location. The food is also wonderful - I had their rib eye steak and their famous pork chops. The steak was tender and cooked properly (I ordered mine medium rare), and it was clearly high quality beef. The pork chops were also good, although the parts with less fat were understandably tougher than the exterior. Overall a great dining experience.

The "St. Moritz" is simply GREAT!
The authentic German food is so tasty.
The servings are OK even for a hungry man,
and the staff is friendly and comforting.
All is clean, restaurant, CR, rooms.
Because its a compound, one hears nothing about street noise,
the Restaurant is in front, the rooms are at the back.
There is a garden between, VERY relaxing,
has connection to the Bar/Restaurant.
For me a "Best Place" in Cebu!
