A good place to start if you want to get into the underground or not-so mainstream local music scene. But the place gets super crowded specially with a popular band. Which makes it very hard to see the band because there's no elevated stage. Food is unremarkable. But from what I hear, revenues from the food and beverage bought are split with the musician so... Support local music!!!

Quite a small venue for music and performing arts. Go early if you want to secure a table. Air-conditioning cannot handle the full bar. Food bar price is too much for the food value.

Live bands every night. You can get very close to the stage. College and Yuppie Crowd. Relatively cheap beer. Very crowded during Friday and Saturday nights. Expect hot environment if you choose to stay inside the building. Otherwise, you can hangout outside and still listen to the music.

Route 196 is one of the best local bars in the metro. If you want to watch local bands Route 196 is the place! :) Affordable beers and food as well!
