Baguio City is one those travel destinations that is too hyped up but there is reason for that. One of which is finding good food places besides the artistic, and outdoorsy flare Baguio offers, and Cafe By The Ruins is one of that. They serve locally grown, and seasonal produce from the markets of Baguio.
The cafe can get packed especially around peak hours. The service was a bit slow but the staff are attentive to our needs. The food is a bit hit and miss for me to be honest but I did enjoy the local longganisa, and the local chocolate drink. This could not pass as budget or cheap dining and was the most expensive breakfast we had (outside of the hotels we stayed at) in Baguio City. However, because it was a heavy meal and we had it for brunch, I could say that it was worth it.

It was really a nice place to eat. The prices of the food were worth it. The ambiance was comfortable. However, the staff should learn how to smile. :)

A visit to Baguio is not complete without dining at this place. All the food in their menu is excellent. And the best part is the smell of newly baked bread. Their scones is one of the best I've tasted so far.

The tall bamboo walls enclose the cafe from the city's bustling center. Upon entering you'll notice the the rug actually contains text.
Try their signature coffee and some of their pastries. The strawberry shortcake is good for sharing. They also have a 2nd floor. Parking is limited to 1 - 2 cars inside the cafe's gated front. Better to visit via taxi.
