Prices and quality are usually highly variable. With a captive audience service can certainly suffer. I wasn't expecting much from Subway but atc branch was pleasantly surprised by the service we received in Aviemore. The staff were friendly and polite and really took the time to deal with our kids and explain the options available. Truly impressive service and you cant fault the sandwiches either. Highly recommended.
