This is an eco-friendly budget place to stay. We met Chris and other people who work there. When we went there the place was actually full and the only available option was to go camping. In July it was freezing at night but overall it was a great experience. We paid $5 per night and it included breakfast and access to the shower. The place is far from the city. It's about 1 hour by car. This is a place you go to get disconnected from the world and find some peace. I'm definitely going back!

This place is for people who love nature and want to be disconected from busy cities (no internet, no cars, no traffic, no stressed people, etc.) its only for who loves wake up and see the mountains in a shiny day and say thanks to the universe, to the apus (mountains) and who wants to listen the river.
The hostel is basic. You got hot water of course. You can enjoy a trekking going to Lake Churup which is awesome! And u know what? Laica the dog can be your best guide!!! This beautiful dog was from the beginig to the end of our trekking. She is a perfect hiker. Im sure u will love her as me and my friend Sinead we did.
The people in the lodge including the volunteers are friendly very friendly. Everyone smiles and they are ready for tips or funny conversation.
There are many books in the living room perfect to spend some hours in this place.
The food: OMG! Sooooo delicious!! The 2 ladies who work there are the best chefs! Thanks!! I dont eat too much meat, i like fish, so the food were lentils and so on. No refrigirator guarantee you fresh veggies every day :)
How to get there: we contacted Americo a local taxi driver from Huaraz. He was friendly . we liked him so when we were back to Huaraz for our mtb downhill we contacted him again and he take us to the top of one mountain (i dont remember the name actually was a small village) to start our downhill. He drives an old station wagon but reliable. The price you pay to go to The Hof is ok is u consider 1 hours and the road is in not good contition.
We only spent 2 nights. 4 days would be ok.
Thanks to everyone: Erick, victor, maria, will, ian, the chefs, rachel? And cris the owner. All the best for u guys!!

An amazing place to relax and explore the various hikes in the area. Ian was an amazing host. He had great suggestions for activities during the day and was always down for a game of cards. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to get away from the crowds for a bit.
