Un lindo y acogedor lugar, muy amable atención como pocas, ducha caliente, cama cómoda y ambiente tranquilo para descansar. Hay acceso a la cocina y desayuno incluido, tiene dos perritos hermosos, una vista increible del Huascaran desde el balcón o la terraza. Algo para tener en cuenta: difícil encontrar el lugar, y si se llega en vehículo particular es trocha.

Walter the owner was great at helping set up tours and the room was very spacious and clean and a great value. It is a bit far from the main square. The street dogs and roosters can be quite loud at night and make it difficult to sleep. Internet is very slow.

Huascarán Hostel is nice, but my partner and I booked two nights and the first night they put us in a room in a house nearby. We would have appreciated to be notified that they didn't have space in their hostel before hand as this homestay was not the hostel we were looking forward to: it was very cold, the shower took ages to get warm water (not even hot), on the top of the door there was a window which was missing the glass, so basically we could hear everything on the corridor and street (It was a open corridor) and was freezing, the room didn't have natural light, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, toilet seat was missing, the pillows were missing their cases and I asked the owner of the house bout all the missing, not cleaned things. She excused herself and told me she had been away for the day. It was 9pm at night, she cleaned the bathroom and changed the bedsheets. It was very uncomfortable for us to have to let her know the room was not "ready".
Next night we stayed at the Huascaran hostel which was clean and had a nice hot shower.
Internet was slow, but as bad as we have experience in other parts on the cost of Peru and in Huaraz, intermittent, connecting and disconnecting.
The hostel has a nice basic kitchen that guest can use. They offer basic breakfast (egg, butter, jam, two breads, juice, and tea or coffee).
They have a garden and roof top which are outdoors and it is nice for the day while it is sunny, but it is missing a common area to stay at night and be warm. The building is cold and you need to wear you coat all day, there isn't type of heating neither in the rooms not in the building.
The owners area nice family and Walter can help you with ideas about tours and hikes.They also have gear you can rent.
I would go back to this hostel if the had a common warm area to hang our in the evenings.

Sehr hilfsbereit. Schönes Frühstück (continental) im Garten. Chef Walter als ehemaliger Reiseleiter kann alles organisieren. Ruhig Lage und Dachterasse mit Blick auf die Berge.
