Dishes perfected by generations of chefs, you can taste the expertise and love that goes in to each dish. As someone who had to change to a gluten free diet a year ago I was practically squealing with delight at the delicious vegetarian entrée, oh so good, and oh so not glutinous.

You might miss the place driving by on the street. In an unassuming location and a small little shop, this restaurant proceeded to exceed any expectations we had going in. The menu was very diverse and varied from the typical westernized(?) Indian restaurants you typically see. The owner (I presume) was extremely friendly, personable, helpful, and kind. I branched out from my usual tikki masala or butter chicken and got a dosa. It was packed with flavor, crispy, and wonderfully satisfying. I would return and try the rest of the menu if ever in Christchurch again.

Scrumptious food. Absolutely delicious! Would give it 10 stars if I could. Proper South Indian food.

We stopped in Christchurch for a couple of days at the end of a long South Island trip and were craving soul food. We are so very glad that we stumbled upon this place.

My husband had parotta (a wheat flat bread) and Kerala beef fry (beef marinated and slow cooked with spices and coconut). I had rice, sambhar (lentil and veggie curry), yoghurt, poppadom and pickle. Believe me when I say that it was exactly like the food we get back home. It had the right hint of spice and every mouthful was a delight. I was so tempted to lick the plates clean.

Our orders were taken by Sebin, the owner who is quiet and unassuming but will readily assist you if you are unsure of what to order.

It isn't a 'flash' place and is not fine dining but what it lacks for in decor, it more than makes up for in taste.

A word to the wise, order the Kerala dishes if you would like to taste authentic South Indian food.

I wish we had a place like this in Wellington.

This was recommended to us by my friend from Kerala as the place he goes for "home-cooked food". Outstanding! The small restaurant is pretty basic, but I still give 5 stars because the food is incredible as is the service. Great variety to choose from and many dishes that I've never seen anywhere else in NZ. I get something different every time and it is always sooooo tasty. To top it off, they are so passionate about sharing their food and culture with you. It's an absolute treat!!

It was my first time visiting Christchurch and my boyfriend and I were craving Indian food. We were blown away by the uniqueness of the food. The flavors were like nothing I've ever had- the dishes were truly authentic and made from scratch. The prices were budget friendly and the owner was extremely helpful and kind. We will be back for sure!
