We enjoyed an all round outstanding car rental experience with Touch Down Car Rentals last month. The Subaru Outback was sensational - didn't miss a beat and I felt extremely safe navigating those winding NZ roads. Geez they are winding compared to Australia!
From our warmly welcoming collection at Queenstown Airport to our dropoff at Christchurch last week the whole process was simple, effortless and just one less thing I had to worry about.
When compared to the big brand name car rental companies I would easily recommend using Touch Down to all my friends visiting NZ.

Unbelievable service from the boys at touchdown! Car was ready go with everything we needed and performed super well. Subaru was perfect for the NZ roads. Very helpful and looked after all of our needs! Cheers :)

Easy to deal with online, sorted out the rental fast. Pick up from the airport was easy with a quick phone call and the hotel where we picked up the car was just down the road. The car was in good condition, the staff cheerful and friendly. My only setback was my lack of knowledge of an FJ Cruiser that made it a difficult drive from the rear passengers point of view. The "suicide doors" made it difficult for entry and exit with the front seats needing to be out of their seat belts before the rear seats can be open etc etc. There is no opening windows in the rear and they are quite small which impeded the view. The comfort and space of the car was excellent with it proving a pleasure to drive, even in the difficult switchback roads. It had enough power to pass with ease. We had four passengers with lots of luggage as we had been travelling for four weeks previously and it handled it with ease.
