We're Kiwibank clients as well as using the post service regularly. But this branch certainly has no sense for customer service.

Baz the local delivery postie in Onehunga is exceptional!
If there are parcels requiring signatures and you aren't home, he always takes the time to hand write a note why it wasn’t delivered, when it is available for pickup at the shop and always signs it Baz with a smiley face. This may seem like a small thing that most posties don’t do, but it really does say a lot about local workers who actually care about their work and humanises big a govt/private company.
The biggest thing for me was I returned home one Saturday afternoon to find some mail in the letterbox obviously delivered in the morning. An hour later, Baz was knocking at my front door stating I wasn’t in this morning so he swung by a second run in case I was home to deliver. Obviously the effort he took over and above saved me the hassle of taking time off work Monday morning to get this, but also highlights the awesome passionate character you are lucky enough to have as an employee! He is always friendly, full of banter and known everywhere around Onehunga which has made him an integral part of the community.
From what the postal staff say, this is a common practice for Baz to work over and above and has been recognised in the past for the work he does. However when someone does amazing work constantly, it shouldn’t be accepted as the norm, but be acknowledged as a aspiration to the rest of us. I feel strongly that he be recognised in some way in his role.
With the restructuring of postie staff imminent, I implore on the company to retain Baz that will only continue to remain an asset for you.
