It was my 3rd time in noumea, but my first time here. This was easily my favorite place in Noumea.

This is an absolutely beautiful park, botanical garden and zoo. It's hard to spot some of the local birds in the wild; so this is a way to see them. It was especially thrilling to see the cagou. There are also some animals and a reptile house. It's a bit hilly, but if you don't want to walk you can rent a segway. In all, a must-do, especially for bird lovers and children.

Bit hard to get to, no bus direct on weekdays, have to walk up a hill.
but worth the time to walk around see the animals. Bring food , drink and sun protection. Steep hills so good set of shoes as well.
