Well... This is our little secret now. We are definitely coming back here.
We spent the whole day sightseeing around The Hague and after finally returning to the hotel (soulless chain thing... Never again), we googled the general direction to restaurants and started walking... Than the rain started and we took cover in some diner-pub called First Page.... And what a lucky coincidence that was..
Atmosphere - cosy, friendly, a place where easily "everybody (could) know your name". I was sure we will be rejected, cause all the place was full, but this is a kind of place where they will find a place for you no matter how full they are.
Personnel - it's like we come there to eat at least once a week... Totally friendly, very helpful.. But not in that "professional" way, but in that "we love what we do" way.
Ordering - this was very interesting. No written menus. The "waiter" comes to your table, takes a seat (almost) and tells you what you can eat in their pub. For one pub, the choice of food is great!
Menü - we had a Thai soup and duck salad thingie as a starter. Soup was bit spicy with coconut. I really wasn't expecting that. I.. It was really, really good. The salad was something that looked so innocent on the plate, but it hit me in the face with a total explosion of taste! It was really amazing! And I hate duck! XD
Beer - we had local beer. Don't ask me the name of it. It was really good! :)
Main course - Mexican chicken dish. That had a kick. I love spicy food and this was perfect for me, but also for my partner in crime who can't have spicy. Really great food.
We will come back, but til we do, people, this is my warm recommendation for a great meal and atmosphere!!! ***** :)

This is a great neighbourhood spot. The food is great, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Cosy neighborhood pub that also serves very decent meals. Very suitable for your informal relaxed evening dinner with/ without kids/ grandparents. You can play darts here or just get comfortably drunk at the bar nibbling away on the free peanuts. Nice outdoor seating too. Recommended.

Nice and small bar where you can eat peanuts as much as you can.

Absolutely wonderful food. We had the three course meal, which included a starter, a main dish, and a dessert. I had the thai coconut-chicken soup, the beef tenderloin in a sweet soy sauce, and the chocolate lava cake. My husband had the shrimp cocktail, the Mexican chicken, and the cheesecake. We also had bread and three spreads before our meal. Everything was delicious, the presentation was great, and the portions were perfect. It took us about 2 hours for the whole meal, which gave us plenty of time to eat and chat. The servers were also very kind and helpful.
