Dattatraya represents the single form of the three greatest hindu Gods Brahma, Bishnu and Maheshwar. This temple built by king Yaksha Malla represents another masterpiece of traditional newari craftsmanship, art and culture. A majestic monument.

Dattatraya temple lies in the east side of dattatraya square just opposite of bhimsen temple. Its the valleys oldest shrine dating back 1427 A.D. this is the only temple in Nepal that is dedicated to the god dattatraya.
