기와집 (keewahjeep) has the best 돌솥비빔밥 (dolsot bibimbap) I ever ate in Korea, and when I last ate there (in 2011) it was only 6,000 won. The bibimbap is also perfectly complemented by its side dishes. The rest of the food is good but, unlike the bibimbap, unspectacular. The waitstaff are sweet and kind, and the interior is nice and cozy.
I'm not sure of how much use this review will be since Gwangju isn't exactly a tourist hotspot, but I'll be happy if it helps a few folks find this gem of a restaurant.
