Friendly and informative service! I walked in and asked for a trial session and got a real good offer. (Not so at BY Ginza!) Instructions were in Japanese but I remembered most. Towel and mat was provided, also a small bottle of water. Showers were clean. Liked the instructor, too. Can definitely recommend BY Shinjuku! :)

A delightful and well-equipped Bikram yoga studio in the heart of Tokyo and in the very convenient Shinjuku neighborhood. I was so lucky to get to practice in Tokyo!

Nearly every metro/JR line train seems to run through Shinjuku, so it's very convenient to get to get to this location.

Classes are in Japanese, but thankfully, there are a few English words in the dialogue to help you pick up the queues. Examples include, "change" and "next set". Yukkuri means slowly, and you'll hear this word a lot as you move out of postures.

The air circulation in this studio is moderate. Because the studio uses humidifiers and heaters to get the room to temperature instead of a built-in HVAC system, the room gets hot, perhaps even warmer than the typical 105 F and there aren't powerful fans to move the air around. This is fine, but keep in mind to budget more water than you're accustomed to. I rarely practice with water, but the staff insisted on giving me a bottle and they were right to.

The women's locker room is well-equipped with at least 8-10 showers, hair dryers, sinks, and lockers with keys that you can use to lock up your belongings. That said, the lockers are good size but not enormous. I was grateful I had stuffed my gear into a small bag instead of bringing my Lululemon duffel bag which is unwieldy in small places.

This studio is on the first floor of the Da Vinci building. If you keep an eye out for "Da Vinci" you can't miss it. I wish Google Maps had given me a more precise address when I was trying to find it. Take the E2 exit if you're on the Shinjuku line and are exiting from the Shinjuku Sanchome Metro station.

Classes are 3,000 yen for one-off classes, and the studio offers a 1-month pass for foreigners at is 20,000, I believe. Classes include mat and towel, but not water. A 1L bottle is 210 yen.
