Stayed here last time we were in Ueno. Located in a good position with the train station and Ameyoko Markets nearby. Also, a short walk to the park.

What I write may be too subjective.
Not as good as those blogs descriped.
I am disappointed.
The room is too dark.
No view.
No cupboard for storage.
The only adventage I've found is the location where is near Ueno JR station.

Good hotel. Good sized rooms (for japan) and plenty of shopping and food in the area. Very convenient transport links to Narita and the heart of tokyo.

A recently-built modern hotel in the midst of Ueno, a bustling part of the city that comprises a station that is a major subway and railway hub, and a huge park. Also, the oldest city market is within walking distance, as well as countless shops and restaurants spread along tiny streets - it was always a pleasure to take a stroll in this city within the city. Hotel staff was as can be expected friendly and efficient, and the room, if not of the size according to western standards, was somewhat larger than can be expected in Japan. Special mention for the large bed which comfortably accommodated two people. I would definitely return here should I go back to Tokyo.
