Cool spot to get some great Kyoto sake, beer, and wine. They have small appetizer selection as well, but I only tried the little wheat snacks.
They serve everything in locally made pottery and let you pick the cup out of a group of options. It's a fun way to duck away from the crowds near Kiyomizu.

A bar. An honest to god bar. With nice jazz music and a beautiful, local artisan sourced sake cup collection to browse for purchase. No chairs, but a perfect place to belly up and take a temple break.

We stopped off here after a walk up the shrine. It was quite a hike so this was a welcome little pit stop, especially given the cold weather. The building itself is really beautiful, and amazingly warm for the high ceilings. We didn't have too much time so just stopped in for the sake sampler but wish we could have stayed longer.
The sake was delicious with excellent tasting notes to give us sake novices an idea of what we were drinking. It was a very relaxing space and great for people-watching as tourists trooped past outside on the their way to and from the shrine.
The food we saw looked delicious as did the selection of beers. Definitely a place to stop in if you're in the area.

Nice variety of Sake. Ordered 2 kinds of 180ml (it's a lot!). The finger food, tofu, was delish. They serve local craft beer as well. It's a standing bar, pretty stylish and cozy.

Shy but welcoming staff if you break the ice. Top quality product. Small place, around 25 places. You can chose your sake cup. Perfect presentation.
